SSBX Fab Lab + Street Furniture
design education, community engagement
design education, community engagement
Through Pratt's Center for Sustainable Design Studies we worked with Kristina Drury of TYTHE design and high school students from the Sustainable South Bronx program GreenFab Lab to further develop a series of street furniture designed for the Bronx's Hunts Point neighborhood.
We worked with students to draw inspiration from the community, interviewing residents and taking photographs. The students then created mood boards and graphics to represent Hunt's Point. Their graphics were turned into laser cut stencils that could beplaced on the top of the stools and also used to make t-shirts for the students.
