BANANA SURGERY ​​​​​​​

Banana people or the America-born Chinese. They have black hair yellow skin. They can speak English fluently. They breathe the same culture as the White kids. But they have the biggest gap between their new immigrant parents. In those banana children's eye, their parents are the generation with a stereotype but don't know by themselves, and unwilling to change. They have less involvement in the political. Even facing the unequal treatment due to race, religious and immigration, they stay quit rather than protect and teach their child to follow.  

In this 5 min video, I want to depict this contradict environment experienced by those ABC children who have the new immigration parents. The bananas are born with nature curve shape representing the LGBTQ person. But the new immigration parents have the deep root associated with Heteronormativity. They want to use this norm to shape their children—make them straight. In the sound of this old and relax music, the surgery conduct step by step, the success of the surgery is the pain of the banana. I hope you can sense the pain both physically and mentally experienced by those Banana People.
