Handmade Steel Bicycle

  • In the summer of 2016, I travelled to Japan with the Bicycle Design + Making Studio at RISD. Starting as a bucket of steel tubes, it became a fixed-gear bike frame of my own design after a long process of mitering, brazing, and filleting. Features of the frame include a unique triple triangle frame that doubles as a place to hold a U-lock, and a raw steel finish that will develop a patina of rust to camouflage from bike thieves. Upon returning, I built the bike up and it has since become my primary form of transportation.
