I am an active member of the Spoken Word club at my school. Over the last four years, the club has allowed me to express myself and helped me to gain confidence in finding my own voice. The opportunity arose to design a t-shirt for our Slam Team competitions. My first challenge was to design a logo that visually encapsulated the spirit of the group. After brainstorming and doing several sketches, I hit upon the idea of a microphone with a fist on top. The design communicates “the power of spoken word.”
