A watercolor process
These two character designs are inspired by chess. Imagining a real battle when you play chess, every chess stuff has it's own personality with different level and right. So I made them into specific character.
The King is from Chinese chess while the Queen is from western chess. I think it would be fun if there is a battle between these two similar chess play.

Step 1:
Sketch on ipad. IPad Pro is my favorite tool to start a work. You can change every element's size and position freely and easily. And with the geometry and perspective ruler, you can make the next line work step better.
Step 2:
Print the ipad sketch and copy onto the watercolor paper.
Step 3:
Add color from wet to dry. It would be better if you made a digital color test before, then you can draw it more confidently and naturally
