Description:
Our assignment was to create a garment inspired by the Native American dress made completely out of white muslin. My idea started from the idea of the Side Fold dress, a large piece of hide that was folded in half and worn like a dress. It is wrapped around the body with an armhole cut in the folded side.  I was interested in the shape of the dress dress and its asymmetry, so with fabric manipulations techniques learned in class, I created a piece mimicking the style of using symmetrical and asymmetrical patterns.
