Ex-Comb I = "Experimental Combination Shoe, First Attempt"
Shoes created during a two week design intensive with former Nike designer Mike Friton. During this time I was interested in weaving, braiding, structure, experimentation, process, and layering. For this shoe I wanted to ask the question of how can you get the most out of a shoe. The answer being the shoe has to do more for the wearer. This has been a 7 month idea that is still in development. The outer braided layer is meant to hold the inner layer in place, act as a shock absorber against terrain. The inner neoprene layer is meant to act as a slipper. An oversized cushion meant to hug the foot. Similar to how a child would wear their parents oversized shoes and attempt to walk around.
