adjective
- relating to, occupied with, or fond of feasting, drinking, or good company
- friendly, lively, or enjoyable
The kitchen table is often the social centre of the home. It is a place where we meet in our daily lives to rest, communicate, work and play.
It is both an extension of the kitchen and a dining table. A facilitator to prepare food, work, create, socialize, eat and drink, together. The activities that surround a kitchen table give it evocative qualities that extend farther than the kitchen. This work highlights the emotional value that the kitchen table holds in its function as a social space. In an attempt to question the constraints of a kitchen in small space living, Convivial Kitchen suggests a new way of preparing and dining in order to keep the creative act of cooking as a social ritual alive.
