Every friday hundreds of camels are trucked or herded into the village of Birqash, in the outskirts of Cairo to be bought and sold for meat.  Some of the camels come from as far away as Sudan and Eritrea.  Birqash provides the opportunity to witness trade as it has been practised for centuries, however it is not for the faint of heart as the treatment of the camels is far from humane.
