You Matter Mentorship Program Logo and Branding

You Matter Mentorship Program is a fictitious organization that focuses on uniting at risk teens, usually from single parent homes, with stable, responsible, and caring adult mentors.
Presented here is the moodboard developed for You Matter Mentorhisp Program.
Presented here is the wordmark exercise to stack typography for possible logo options.
Of the wordmark options, this met the needs of You Matter due to its focus on "You".
Once the wordmark was established, logo sketches were rendered to determine an icon. Initially, it was thought that the use of circles would be the best way to convey the idea of protection, commitment, and stability. When considering the importance of "Stability", the design team decided that the icon should focus on that core value. By referencing Gregg Shorthand Dictionary, the symbol used to identify You Matter is the shorthand for stability (1916).
The strongest logo sketches were rendered into vector logos.
Of the vector logos, three were selected for color exploration. Due to the importance of "Stability", all three of the final choices contain the symbol for it. Due to the protective nature of circles, the final sketches display the the "Stability" symbol housed within one. In addition, the choice to retain the "Stability" symbol was also in part due to the fact that it looks like an abstract "Y".
This is the final version of the selected logo in black and white. Ultimately, I selected the three circles with the center circle housing the “stability” symbol. The use of three circles symbolizes community. The use of two circles the same size is to symbolize the mentor and mentee. The single large circle is a representation of growth and stability of the mentee.
This is the final color version of the You Matter Mentorship Program logo.
Presented here is a stationery set which includes a letterhead, business cards, and a preview of an online package.
