Drop Spine Box
A common sight in libraries and rare book collections, these boxes are simple but sturdy enclosures that are custom-made to fit a specific book. This example is one which I made to house another of my projects, my 16th century German Gothic bookbinding model. (See portfolio for more details!) These boxes have many advantages such as keeping books safe from dust, light, water, and rapid changes in humidity.
