TWILL WEAVE AND STITCHES

Basketweave is a structure that exists in many textile arts. It consists of multiple horizontal strands and vertical strands, resulting in a square pattern associated with woven baskets.
These are basically hard weaves and constitute another important category of rearranged twills. They are capable of producing firm and compact textures of good strength, durability and warmth. Hence these weaves are suitable in the production of garments from worsted fabrics. The two important requirements in the construction of corkscrew weaves are
1.The repeat size should be an odd number, and
2.The warp float should be one greater than weft float in case of warp faced weaves and vice versa.
Twill is a type of textile weave with a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs (in contrast with a satin and plain weave). This is done by passing the weft thread over one or more warp threads then under two or more warp threads and so on, with a "step," or offset, between rows to create the characteristic diagonal pattern.
Zigzag twill are those in which the direction of twill is frequently reversed at suitable intervals either across the width or along the length.
The no. of warp yarn is double to the no. of warp yarn of basic twill.
Herringbone, also called Broken Twill Weave describes a distinctive V-shaped weaving pattern usually found in twill fabric.
Basic stitches assignment and their variations.
Stitches can be of different types straight stitch, running stitch, darning stitch, back stitch, satin stitch, outline stitch etc.
Back stitch- a sturdy hand stitch for seams and decoration.
These include Satin stitch, basting stitch, french knot and buttonhole stitch.
These include Straight stitch, running stitch and its variation.
To conclude, stitch is one complete movement of a threaded needle through a fabric or material such as to leave behind it a single loop or portion of thread, as in sewing or embroidery hence a stitch helps in making, mending or joining a fabric.
