糯米雞 girl

Growing up as a first generation Asian-American, I often found myself questioning whether I was "Asian enough" or "American enough" to belong in either community. I grew up eating my grandma's authentic home-cooked meals and was raised following the social norms that my parents had carried with them from of other countries.
Outside of home, I was surrounded by people who did not share all the same values my family did. Often, the messages American society presented would be contradictory to what I had grown up believing. As I got older, I began developing my own opinions which are drawn from both Asian and American culture.
