The premise for this image was set after students were distributed a random pairing of a name of an animal and an accidental noun. I was given the following pairing: elephant and memory.
Unintentionally or not, elephants happen to have a very good memory. However, as all living creatures they get old and their memories decay. Some take longer to wash out due to their importance and some vanish so easily that it's hard to trace them back. Therefore, I used an elephant - shaped linoleum stamp to make impressions on a foam board, with each imprint being involuntarily different, either blurry or crisp, foggy or precise, just like our memories.
