From the ARTchive: Eustace Tilley 3d Scene
This model and scene was built for The New Yorker in the very early days of their iPad magazine app; they were looking for an interesting way to introduce video content; the 3d vrsion of Eustace Tilley would be a way to bridge that gap in the form of a video bumper that could be used to segway into unique content on a weekly basis. The project was not completed after many concerns about the uncanny valley and the mindset of the readers of The New Yorker; I don't disagree, but would like to have completed the scene. I used a vintage TNY cover as my inspiration.
Rough first pass of the model was initially built in Silo 3d, then edited in Maya
