I spent this summer learning how to code. I focused mostly on the common front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript and JQuery. This is the result. A simple, clean homepage redesign for my startup, doUdeal - an online college marketplace that provides students with a simple, safe and convenient way to buy and sell on and around their campus while comparing user listings to local and online retail inventory. The goal was to emphasize our most important call to actions, Search for your university and Sign Up. The deal carousel is also for social proof. While fake, they give visitors the sense that there's activity on the site. By displaying well designed deals of the most common things students are currently buying and selling on our marketplace, my hope was to also inspire potential sellers.
