Vodafone - Comedy Festival Tents

Vodafone - Comedy Festival Venues
When Vodafone took over sponsorship of the Comedy Festival from Carlsberg, we had to come up with a new set of names and designs for the various tents that operated as venues around the Iveagh Gardens.

We came up with lots of silly names but most of the more outrageous ones were rejected, probably quite rightly, on the grounds that they were funny for all of 5 seconds.

As designers, Luke Wright & Martin Busek did most of the heavy lifting here, of course. I just came up with silly names and scrawled on bits of paper.
Traffic cones were helpfully supplied - presumably so students could indulge in some improvisational comedy.
What's Big & Red and funny inside...?
The Cherry Top... had a cherry on top.
The VIP area for comedians and blaggers.
A not so subtle pun on Vodafone's Formula One sponsorship. Boom Boom... Vroom Vroom.

This video shows the tents in The Iveagh Gardens for the festival 2012. They were used again for the 2012 festival. I saw these two guys (Reggie Watts & Nick Thune) in 'The Jokeshop'. They were both pretty damn funny.

Trying to come up with the name and look of each venue was a very in-tents process.
