Digital Suminagashi

I was inspired by the japanese technique suminagashi, well known as paper marbling. I wanted to reproduce this method in the computer as "digital art" because I think that it's interesting to transfer traditional techniques in technology and discover different ways of experimentation and creation working with computers.

Every creation is spontaneous, unpredictable and unique. You don't know how will it look at the end, which makes everything rare and refreshing. It doesn't have any concept and doesn't intend to transmit feelings and emotions; it's pure aesthetic, decoration. The same thing happens working with suminagashi.

To be honest, nothing beats the real and original technique, but it's a different approach to this cool technique, respecting its method and results.
I want to credit DesignLazy for this fantastic poster frame mockup.
