The original idea was inspired by a home office desk that is currently in the Crate & Barrel product line: the Clybourn Executive Desk.

This desk was designed for a project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Executives from Crate & Barrel provided a project brief for products to expand into the contract furniture market. After researching the office market, this desk was designed to fill the need for a personal workstation.
