“This track is DOPE John John!!!! Your voice amazed me the 1st time I heard it when I interviewed you and it still does! The lyrics, the poignancy and delivery in this track are spot on! This is a film soundtrack contribution right there! Well done & keep pushing the boundaries in your genre brother! Not enough music out there with meaningful lyrics and quality vocals.” - Steph Hernandez (former BBC radio presenter/ Editor-in-Chief – EXIST Media)

John John, real name John Francis Jr., has been honing his craft secretly in Trinidad and patiently waiting for his time to shine.  His influences come from the soul greats and recent R&B artists like Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Bilal and Musiq Soulchild.  John John’s soulful yet rugged vocals are immersed in the heartfelt joy and pain of ‘true’ R&B – that gritty rhythm, blues and angst.

Signed to Highway Records, John John has spent the past three years creating his highly anticipated album ‘Cita’s Grandson’ (Now Out).  He literally became a household name over night due to his feature on another label-mate’s (Hip-Hop Icon Chromatics”) track - ‘Cold Blooded’.  This was the number one video on Synergy TV’s top ten count-down for over a month.

John John’s first single (2010), ‘Angel’, received rave reviews & was featured heavily on radio stations’ playlists across Trinidad & Tobago which is no small feat for an R&B artist to have a hit single on stations that mainly play reggae, dancehall and soca.  He was also regularly featured on BBC radio stations’ R&B playlists in the UK with ‘Angel’ and received great feedback from their listeners.

John John’s follow-up single (2011) ‘State of Mind’ (featuring Lady More) got a standing ovation from the audience when he performed it ‘live’ on Synergy TV and it’s video was also a fan favorite across Trinidad & Tobago.

He has recently collaborated with acts and producers from the US in an effort to break into the international market in addition to releasing releasing his debut Album “CITAGRANDSON”.
CITAGRANDSON tells proud stories of African Heritage, strong messages of our Inner Power and brilliant stories of Love and Companionship.

John John continues to perform regularly at live shows and is growing in his fan base.  He currently hosts “Word and Jazz” at Tao Sushi and has built a space for performers of his ilk to hold intimate performances for their adoring fans in the most upscale of settings.  His biggest asset is his humility and he uses the medium of music to spread positive messages about love, unity and personal experiences anyone can relate to.
