MARIPOSA
This evening gown was created in Intermediate Patternmaking.
The look was created on a start to finish basis, which indicates that the design was created from a mere concept and then brought all the way out into production for a final finished product. The overall design was inspired by the change of season, bringing life, peace, and bliss into the air.

This evening gown features an asymmetrical look with a gathered shoulder. The dress also has radiating darts, fully lined, side invisible zipper, and has a tulle bottom skirt with hand sewn flowers. Poly Satin and Tulle were used to construct this garment.

The dress is fitted to a size 6 dress form. All pattern making and garment construction was done by myself.

*This evening gown is also featured on The Art Institute of San Antonio official school website and walked down the runway at The San Antonio Museum of Art Fashion Show "Wear your Art." Stephanie Martin, from Style Lush TV, also mentioned this piece in her article titled, "Fashion Across Cultures Fashion Show - Presented by AI of San Antonio", as "a gorgeous vision by AI student Dallas Alexius. It was reminiscent of something that a fashionista could wear to the San Antonio Fashion Awards."*
