The user positions their eyes behind the concave lenses. The user looks through the double sided mirror and sees their reflection from the mirror on the far side of the apparatus. The two-sided mirror reflects the paper in the apparatus. The user must then draw their face upside down and backward overlaid on the reflection of their face.
