AUTOGIFSURFER (A Homage to Stanley) is an exploration of translating the logic of cinema, computer, and video game into a 3 dimensional sculptural interface. In is entirety, this work attempts to merge its installation with its documentation; its existence with its afterlife. Subsequently, it wants to ask the question: how do we empathize with something that is both the user and the interface, both the body and the platform? Ultimately, by exploring all this different logic, this virtual physical installation is a way to address the reality of the contemporary digital economy: a reality where the act of consuming - through viewing or playing - is also producing.
