Girls Don't Sweat, We Sparkle

Girls Don't Sweat is an ironic take on the brooch, a decorative jewelry piece pinned to one's clothing. I have found myself frustrated with the brooch as a jewelry object due to the disconnect between the piece and the body, and thus I set out to create a brooch that would contour the body, in this case the curves across one's toes. Therefore the sock seemed like an appropriate piece of clothing to make a brooch for, as it is the last item of clothing that would ever make practical sense to attach a brooch to. The piece contours my right foot and can be pinned and worn on my sock. Girls Don't Sweat is made of sterling silver, used due to its connotation with opulence and cleanliness which flies directly in the face of a sweaty sock.
