The topic of the site isMusic – specifically, acoustically driven with a unique sound. Acoustic Scars is a band based inAtlanta, GA. In an effort to taketheir band to the next level, they have decided to enter the Web with a soundthat has the potential to gain viral traction among their target audience.

The purpose of thewebsite is to visually represent the bands personality and style, digitallydistribute their sound through iTunes, and generate more interest in liveperformance scheduling. This willpossible by focusing the site on attracting more gigs, increasing the fan base,showcasing their most recent recordings, and displaying images from recentperformances. The overarching goalis to increase awareness of the bands unique sound by encouraging peer-to-peercomment and review and social sharing, while also showcasing their talent topromotional agents, producers, and record label executives.


Target Audience
Based on the goals thatthe band has for the website, the target audience is grouped into three targetaudience groups: existing fans, prospective fans, and potential record labelexecutives and event planners/promoters. Further, they have been broken down along geographic, technological, anddemographic guidelines.

Existing Fans:
These fans deserve aplace where they can interact with the band on a personal level, get updatesabout upcoming events, and listen to the music that they faithfullysupport. These fans will belooking for opportunities to optin for special campaigns, interact with socialelements on the website, and post reviews.

Prospective Fans:
Providing easy access tosample music (before leaving the site to purchase on iTunes), information aboutthe band, and images from past performances will help turn these first timevisitors into loyal fans.

Potential record label executives and event planners/promoters:
These visitors will belooking for social proof that the music has a following, a flagship soundrepresented in top selling singles that are conveniently positioned on thesite, and a contact form to get in touch.


Geographic:
§ Fans are notgeographically constrained – however, campaigns for live events will consider aperimeter of 100 miles around the location of venue chosen for theperformance.
§ Popularbands (in Atlanta, GA) seeking talented musicians to open their events.
§ Producersand record label executives are constrained to the United States andCanada.
§ Local eventpromoters.

Technological:
§ Broadband isreadily available in, near, and around the Atlanta area. Therefore virtual locations on multipledevices are a valid consideration.
§ The keyconstituents for this genre occupy two distinct audiences: fans, and businessassociates (promoters / producers). Fans range from moderately young (25 – 45) to potentiallytechnologically illiterate individuals above 45 that may not have modernhardware and/or smart devices.

Demographic:
§ Male andfemale between the ages of 25 and 55.
§ Youngeraudience might have difficulty paying for event tickets - so target youngeraudiences with ads for iTunes downloads.
§ Older audienceis more likely to be established, and can afford pricey tickets to live events.
§ The mostloyal fans will be those that value the uniqueness of an Acoustic only bandthat blends insightful lyrics with a timeless tone.
