Color Monotypes
Prints on top of paintings
I see these small, water-based paint and ink pieces as color and compositional studies. Unexpected water marks and blotches add spontaneity to the process as well as the finished product.

In an ongoing effort to explore the representations of space and distance that inform our everyday visual experience, I attempt to utilize a range of media, from pure intaglio printmaking to explorative monoprinting and mixed media painting. To communicate a sense of a far-reaching expanse the works imply a horizon and the suggestion of sky. Perspective is amplified through line.

Can one see space? Or are objects situated within it the only indication of distance and time?
