OVERWHELM

Overwhelm is a board game about strategic placement of soldiers and their movement to separate areas, to capture your own areas, and prevent opponents from getting theirs. Conker lands until you have optimal control or there is no one left to fight.

Rules:    Setup
Players start by picking the color of their choice then place their colored marker on the corner of the map of their color.
All players will receive 1 green token  and place it on the land with their marker on it.
They will also receive 3 attacking cards and 3 defending cards

A role of the die will then determine the order of play (highest role goes first). Game will go clockwise from there.

Win condition:
A player wins and the game ends by ether taking control of all three of the areas marked with their color or by forcing all other players off the board (when they no longer have control of any area)

Players turn:
Players can either obtain soldiers or move soldiers on their turn.
Players can only obtain soldiers 4 times per movement (set up counts as movement)

Obtaining soldiers:
Players roll dice to obtain soldiers
1,2,3 = 100 blue
4,5, = 1,000 green
6 = 10,000 yellow

Movement:
Players can only move soldiers to an area that is connected to their marked area with a purple line.
Moving on blank area results in capture of that area.
Moving on owned area results in a battle.

Battle:
At start of battle both attacking and defending player's strength is equal to the number of soldiers they have.
Player who attacks, places down an attack card face down and defending players place a defending card face down. When both players are positive of their choice, the cards are then revealed. The winning card, if any, gets 500 added to their total power.
The winner of the battle wins the territory but losses 1/10 of the men he attacked/defended with. The loser of the battle loses control of the territory and 1/2 of the men used to attack/defend (any number in the division resulting with 50 as the last two numbers will be rounded down).
If defending player loses, they may place there remaining soldier's tokens to any territory they have.

Materials :

Official Game board
Official game cards
Green, blue, and yellow game tokens
black , yellow, blue, and green markers
8 sided die

Design process:

I wanted to do a lot more but decided to aim for something smaller considering the time limit and 4 other projects so I downsized.  The problems I ran into were the size of the board along with several probability and time issues. I fixed them by adding a limit to certain actions and using an 8 sided die.  I believe this fixed the problems.
