A conceptual assignment to reinterpret a cliché for Intro Video. I used set and costume design I am familiar and comfortable with to create an environment which is at once sugary + beautiful, and alien + overstimulating. The actors, who were a couple at the time, were styled, positioned, and directed in very specific ways, but their natural intimacy with one another was crucial to the process. I am using the imagery of an alternative sex organ to explore the idea of intimacy and privacy between people who can be read, on a surface level, to be heterosexual / heteronormative.  Both actors identify as Queer in real life, and this piece also aims to start a conversation about sexuality and sexual behavior moving out of the realm of cis-normative sexual dynamics and politics.
