Paintings and Process
Below are a sampling of paintings and the various steps I go through in my process.
Linework, taped and prepped for painting.
Shadows using fluid acrylic. I try and use purple for items that will be painted in warm colors and Payne's grey for cool colors.
Almost fully done, waiting for the paint to try before adding a few extra details.
Scanned and completed, with some minor adjustments to help make any prints look better. This was used on a banner that I would display at conventions.
Cloudjumper from How to Train Your Dragon 2, drawn and painted in one sitting during a Drink & Draw event.
Magikarp of Pokémon fame, done while vending at a convention.
Part of an animal series, this is the tight sketch done for the underwater image.
The linework done in pen.
Shadows added in fluid acrylic.
Finished piece with watercolors.
Some of my monster drawings (you can see the linework for them in my "I've Created a Monster!" post) rendered using the process above.
