Totally Sick! publication
Totally Sick! is a publication created in conjunction with an exhibition with the same name, created by Valand Academy MFA students at the Medical History Museum in Göteborg.
The publication responds quite directly to the theme of the exhibition—exploring subjects such as mental health, plastic surgery and quarantine—by combining clinical aesthetics of the pharmaceutical and medical industries with imagery relating to the faltering human body and techniques used to visualise this.
The cover used generative design to create 300 unique covers, all of them combining micro and macro views of the human body, graphics used in medical patents, stickers used to communicate patient and object conditions in healthcare, and a metallic sticker with information regarding the publication, including a 16-character unique ID number.
The publication was designed and conceptualized together with Mikael Vesavuori through our collaboration Being on commission of Valand Academy.
