In my Digital Illustrator class, we asked to make a poster for a theater play. She put us in group and I was in the Gee’s Bend play. After we know our play we have to research about and try to meet with the actual character in the Gee’s Bend play. Then we have to do sketches about it.

After we meet with the group I decide to make fabric as the play show us in very old way. I got confused when I was looking for the best color for this project and how I will do it as a fabric. I put some of random squares that I used the pen tool with it. I tried to make it as it supposed to be which is very hard to make an actual fabric in the illustrator.

First I decide to make a fabric without having African people in there because I know most of us will do African in this post. I start to build the fabric by the pen tool around the Gee’s Bend but I change my mind to do the whole page as a pieces of fabric. My color palette is 7 colors with one of designed fabric. It wasn’t that easy to know where I have to place the information that I have to show in this poster for ex. Where, price, name, and A lot of information that I have to place them on so many pieces of old fabric. I put the name of the play in one large page color piece of old fabric. The rest information about it I put them in very bottom.

While I am doing this play poster of theater. I learn a lot specially when I was doing the fabric by using the pen tool and how long I took to choose the colors that it looks good with. I learn where I could use the very busy piece of fabric and where is the designed fabric and the sizes too. I also learn how I chose different color in order to make them match together.
