Vitrales 1: Viajando desde los Verdes a los Amarillos en un Universo de Azules
La percepción del color es un profundo misterio, que siempre reta mi imaginación y mi instinto de investigación. Estos imágenes tipo vitrales fueron diseñadas para estudiar cómo nuestros ojos, y nuestra mente, percibe viajar desde los verdes a los amarillos sobre un fondo azul. A pesar de que la capa verde-amarilla del primer plano es estadísticamente la misma, cambiar la profundidad de los azules del plano posterior cambia completamente nuestra percepción del primer plano. Pareciera ser que budistas y taoístas tienen razón cuando, cada quien a su manera, dicen que vivimos sumergidos en un universo de ilusiones.
Stained Glasses 1: Traveling from the Greens to the Yellows in a Universe of Blues
Color perception is a deep mystery, always challenging my imagination and my research instinct. These stained glasses like images were designed to study how our eyes, and our minds, perceive traveling from the greens to the yellows over a blue background. Even though the foreground green-yellow layer is statistically the same, changing the deepness of the blues in the background layer completely changes our perception of the foreground layer. It would seem to be that both Buddhist and Taoist are right when, their own ways, they say we live immersed in a universe of illusions.
