What is it?
Pavilion is a foldable and modular outdoor shelter concept. Its angular shape makes it possible to attach multiple Pavilions end-to-end or perpendicularly.
It began as a school project with Emil Shaw, Juha Ryhänen and myself. When the original project ended I felt that what was then started, was begging to be finished.
The structure can reasonably be unfolded and erected by two or three people.
The folding is possible thanks to a double hinge that pivots only in one direction at a time.
Origins
It all started in the late spring of 2015. Designers' Village, a school project organised by ProPuu Oy, for Messilä Maailma Oy, in co-operation with several Finnish design schools, was the bedrock for what would eventually be this concept.
