Color swatch cards

Question: How does the sequencing of information affect communication?

This project was completed in several parts. First, I found 26 alphabetic type specimens throughout Rhode Island, collecting data on their location. Next, I created a series of card designs showcasing my found typography along with the date, time, location, weather, and additional field notes relevant to the letter’s spotting. The importance of this exercise was to learn about and illustrate typographic hierarchy.

My final color swatch cards incorporated a minimalist map aesthetic on the back of the card and a gradient, paint-swatch layout. A QR code was included on the back leading directly from the users location to the location of the typographic character on the card.
