Pattern based representation of bioluminescent fish/sea creatures.
It is a scaleable pattern that would easily fit a small utility knive as well as larger object and platforms. The idea of the visual representation comes from nature and its spyraling and fractal ever changing dynamics.
Which animal(s) did you choose as a visual and why?
I chose a fish (not one specific kind of fish just a form that was interesting to visualy interpret) probably because I grew up by the sea side (Baltic sea) and I'm born in the sign of pisces.
What culture or region does the animal stand for?
I would say it represents all the cultures whose lives revolwe around the life giving waters of the oceans, seas, lakes and rivers of the world. My visual representation of the sea creature does not really resemble any artwok of cultures in the Baltic sea region. It could be similar to Nordic or African visual style or a mix of those.
What story does your design tell?
It's a story about the never-ending cycle of nature and its properties from the incredibly small (quantum physics) to the unimaginably large (space/cosmos/known universe).
What style did you choose for your design and why?
I chose a vivid scaleable pattern style so it would stand out and look cool an a small item such as a pocket knife.
