BROOCH "LOST PARADISE"
2017

Materials: Silver, vitreous enamel (cloisonné enamel), coral;
Measurements: 6,5 cm*6cm*9 cm;
Techniques: Vitreous enamel (cloisonné enamel);
Inspiration: Inspired by history and current affairs of Ukraine
.

Every civilization wants to survive. Being Ukrainian I often think of the clash of the Ukrainian culture (symbolized by Oranta, Scythian pectoral, St. Sophia church) with another one, which is far more aggressive. Which will stop existing and which will be assimilated? There is no answer yet.

In a broader term the brooch symbolizes any culture struggle, where the weakest is doomed and the strongest nourishes from the latter and flourishes. A topic which in my opinion is universal since such phenomenon has been occurring since ages, and I guess many of us are facing it right now.
