Mental Health Commission (MHC)

The Mental Health Commission is an independent organisation, set up under the Mental Health Act 2001, which protects an individual’s right and interests in relation to mental health services in Ireland. The Commission’s primary role is to make sure that mental health services maintain high standards and good practices and to protect the interests of people detained in approved centres.

Following the establishment of the Commission, design guidelines were put in place in order to ensure adherence to the brand strategy by differing parties. A comprehensive Reference Guide to the Mental Health Act was designed, followed by a series of reports, information leaflets, posters and folders that were produced annually.
