THE BRIDGE
An abandoned bridge structure, that is supposed to connect, to celebrate a distance to de-mark a beginning and an end, suspended in time and space, is left as monument of emptiness in the city landscape. The Raghadan bridge is another example of the connection which was designed to connect the city fabric with the Raghadan Termainl structure, which was never occupied, hence the bridge was never used.
This monument of emptiness is wrapped and weaved through its existing structure with a total of 400 m long of the orange plastic fabric used in construction sites around the city. The floating orange bridge creates the calling element, that celebrates the temporal permanence of construction debris around the city and celebrates once again a gateway to and from the city with the Raghadan Terminal structure during the event.
: الجسر
مهجوراً ومعلّقاً في الزمن والمكان، يصبح بناء جسر، والذي من المفترض أن يصل ويحتفي بمسافة عبر تحديد نقطة بداية ونهاية، نصباً للفراغ في مشهد المدينة. جسر رغدان واحد من هذه الأمثلة بسبب تصميمه في الأساس للربط ما بين نسيج المدينة وبناء المجمّع. وبسبب عدم إشغار المجمّع، لم يتم استعمال الجسر نهائيّاً. يلتف حول نصب الفراغ هذا 400 متر من قماش القنّب البرتقالي الذي يستعمل في مواقع البناء عبر بناء موجود سلفاً. يحيي هذ البرج الطافي ديمومة مخلّفات البناء حول المدينة، مستذكراً البناء الذي يوظّف كمخرج من وإلى المدينة عبر هذه الفعاليّة.
