SELA – Save the Sharks

SELA
Save the Sharks Organization
Branding created to raise awareness of shark overfishing and abuse
*   *   *
SELA, short for "selachophobia" (the irrational fear of sharks), is a company that raises awareness about the overfishing of sharks, and works to diminish misconceptions about their behaviors. The branding designs for this company were made to look sharp and eye-catching. It consists of both subtle designs based on the original logo design, as well as large typography and geometric graphics. Large bold questions are used to make the viewer wonder, and are right justified to create an edginess. The project consists of logos, business cards, letterhead, postage, beer coasters, posters, metal signage, a graphic multi-page, packaging, and a website. Beer coasters would be given out at bars near coastal areas, metal signage would be posted on a beach under a shark attack warning sign, and packaging, which houses a unique shark tooth, would be sent to supporters of the cause.
