Reflection
Madison Thomas coming in was such a delight for someone like me who really has a passion for filmmaking. She was a wonderful person who was really down to earth, and hearing her stories about the North End inspired me very much. Madison showed us a behind the scenes of her movie This Is Why We Fight, which was very good, and I can’t believe that she had created such a well crafted film right here in Winnipeg! Also, she showed us her short film The Middles, which was a very relatable film for teenagers in high school who are struggling in finding who they are. Madison also went touched upon networking and how she was able to acquire guns in This Is Why We Fight, and who helps her score her movies.
After showing her work, she gave us scripts which were not complete and had us fill in the blanks ad libs style. There were three phases in the exercise: phase 1 was the completion of the script, phase 2 was planning our shots, blocking, roles, etc., phase 3 was for us to film our finished scripts. This exercise was very excellent because we were able to sharpen our skills in screenwriting, and planning our films. Madison Thomas was a very inspirational guest and a very great woman in the filmmaking industry, pushing forward great content coming and helping others achieve their dreams.
