Constantly battling insomnia and attention deficit issues growing up in suburban New York, Francis would often fill his late childhood nights with a frantic need to draw, paint and create. As a young man he developed a “healthy” rebellious spirit and a love for DIY culture. A constant passion to create brought him to the Art Institute of Boston, in Massachusetts, where he earned his BFA; focusing on painting and sculpture.

    Francis moved back to New York and has been living in Brooklyn since 1999.

He is a mixed media artist taking on everything from painting to sculpture to photography to stop motion animation and more. In the studio he uses paint, charcoal, wax, collage (basically anything within reach) to explore his emotions, ideas, obsessions, interactions and reactions to life and the world… the process is his therapy.

     His work fuses together his interests in high concept intellectualism, absurd humor, organized chaos, and the challenging of popular beliefs and social norms; all with a driving nostalgia for those late naïve childhood nights.

"Perfect" does not exist... It is false.

"Imperfect" is honest... It is beautiful.

"Beauty" is subjective... question it and you will find it everywhere.
