Story time!

I woke up feeling relatively better after a couple of days of being sizzling hot (my not-so-subtle reference to fever). Still dazed, I happened to stumble across the calendar and realized much to my horror, that it was my best friend’s birthday in a week’s time. When the initial panic passed, I recalled his request of getting him bunny printed onesies (sorry, best friend). Grabbing a cup of coffee and some cake, I fired up my laptop and was immediately on a mission to find the most adorable thing I could get.

Later, as I reflected upon that frankly uneventful morning, I acknowledged the fact that my arse was saved by one of the greatest conveniences information technology has bestowed upon humankind, online shopping.

Here is a list that will help you recognize online shopping for the boon that it is –

1. Expediency – For a couch potato like me, what better than to be able to save my ass from getting kicked with the simple press of a button. Technically, many buttons… and the moving cursor. But ya’ll homies feel me, right?

2. Discounts – Oh, the holy grail of the typical shopper. Admit it, reader. You developed the knack to seek better prices from right that time your mother convinced the vendor to sell her a 200 rupee article at 75. And as they say, old habits die hard.

3. Price comparison – I swear I almost bought this onsesie but at the last moment decided to check another site for the same. I saved like 20 rupees with this move of mine and if this doesn’t make my mother proud, I don’t know what will.

4. Saving, again – Let me come to the point. No transport charges, money saved. No trying to look socially acceptable before going shopping, a heck lot of time saved.

5. Variety – Go through endless articles at the speed of around 300 items per hour. The variety you get to skim by while shopping online is so enormously more than shopping in person. Do I even need to elaborate on that?

6. Easy gifting – Now maybe, this one time, I sent a wonderful valentine’s day card to this super hot guy I stalked on Facebook. I got it delivered directly to him to avoid getting arrested, but at least he knew my feelings for him. Here’s the card. Don’t judge.
