Urbanscapes (en plein air)

  • Urbanscapes
All were done on location, most in one 3-5 hour session
  • This collection of oil and acrylic paintings began in 2007, for a solo show at the Pingree School in South Hamilton, MA. Using the plein air/alla prima style of painting (on location in one session), my goal was to capture the essence of these places. The first show compared big chain stores (like BJ's) with small mom and pop stores. Subsequent solo shows only focused on the shops themselves as a complete subject. An article about this series was published in North Shore Living Magazine: Holiday Issue 2008.
Today, many of these paintings have found homes in the stores they depict.
