The SS17 ‘Collection 01’ was created with inspiration from Maison Martin Margiela, focusing on deconstruction and use of used garments
together with a photo series of riot gangs in LA in the 1960’s brought in LIFE Magazine. Espcielly the mood and colour scale of the street gang in LA has been important in the creation of the collection.
I have mainly worked with deconstruction and reuse of denim (trousers and jackets), and have been experimenting with ways of preserving the details of colour, wash and stitching that is already given in used denim jeans.
The aim of the collectin was to use the deconstruction idea of Margiela and apply that to denim and pairing this with light weight fabrics such as silk to give the four looks a casual, high-end but streetcool look that resembles the mood from the photo series in LIFE Magazine.
