Mystic Aquarium Summer Internship

Arctic Coast
This exhibit is home to two beautiful beluga whales, Kela and Juno. Pictured below are trainers brushing a young whale's teeth, and a mock ultrasound for a female whale.
Fish and Invertebrates
A green sea turtle named Charlotte chows down on some healthy snacks with some assistance from a trainer. (See here for more information on her rescue and success story.)  Meanwhile, an East Pacific red octopus curls its tentacles around its trainers arm in a tender greeting.
Marine Theater
A raft of California Sea Lions take to the stage to show off their natural behaviors and inspire guests about the importance of conservation.
Penguins
Mystic Aquarium is host to a colony of over 30 African Penguins. These little birds each have their own unique personalities and relationships with the trainers that work with them. Guests have an opportunity to learn more about them in a Penguin Encounter program, or they can watch a feeding session where trainers hand feed the penguins that crowd around waiting for their meal.
Pacific Northwest
This exhibit boasts a small colony of stellar sea lions, harbor seals and fur seals. Pictured below is resident sweetheart Ziggy Star receiving some special care along with a helping of fish. Coral, a harbor seal, is examined during a routine check-up.
