Between 1993 and 1996 I created background scenery for MTV's VJs, concerts, shows and pilots. The scenery or styled sets were seen on MTV, MTV News, MTV Asia, MTV Latino, MTV India and Red Music Television. I worked on location in New York, Miami Beach, Singapore (twice) and Sydney, Australia. My travels also included Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand and Fiji.
It all started with this corner. I was hired to do whatever I wanted in this corner where Alternative Nation and 120 Minutes were shot. Because of the relentless shooting of VJ segments it was decided to shoot the segments around the artists as they worked. Originally I was one of three or four artists tasked with bringing a new look to MTV's television studio at National Video on 45th st. & 10th Avenue.
