LaLela Project Arts Education Programs

A graduate of the General Management Program (GMP) at the Harvard University School of Business, Lisa Ellis is the former president and general manager for the Sony Urban Music label, which was named Urban Label of the Year in 2004 and 2005. In addition to her responsibilities as entertainment executive and manager, Lisa Ellis serves on the board of Global Kids USA and LaLela Project, which focuses on arts education for young people in South Africa.

Named after the Zulu word that means “to listen,” Lalela emphasizes academic achievement and life skills through a whole-brain curriculum. The organization’s specialized programs include those aimed at empowering females, supporting girls entering high school, and providing resources to help develop confidence and motivation.
