Eregrow- A sustainable alternative to Poly Bags

To create a conscious effort to lean towards an eco-friendly, sustainable way of living. By creating awareness through use of  materials to promote why one must invest in alternative natural materials, as well as efficiency in processes. The reduction of waste and how one can be apart of the natural eco-cycle where one organism’s waste is another’s food.

Sustainability to me is the ability to sustain, to be at a constant level for a extended period of time without affecting the other parameters. Sustainability has many meanings depending on the place, time and environment and people who interpret it. The need for sustainability has been there for ages undiscovered, but only now that we are in economic and environmental downfall that we must not only inform one another but also start making sure it’s out into action. We are the future of tomorrow and it is our responsibility to take the initiative to sustain everything around us in our environment such as raw materials and resources and even prevent further damage to the resources that we already have. Sustainability has been practiced for generations in self-sustaining cultural traditions.
My concept is an attempt to eliminate the use of plastic and other non biodegradable materials and replace these with something as simple as a leaf, the Areca leaf, that is not only  biodegradable but also has several physical possibilities. These will be presented in a tray with six compartments, each consisting of one pod of herb seeds in soil. An option of seeds embedded within Areca pulp, which can be directly transplanted into soil will also be provided. This would be space friendly and environmentally friendly.

This product will give the user the ability of investing and promoting natural biodegradable products, thus making a conscious and smart choice in reducing wastage. This product will be produced and manufactured by local rural area people, who will be providing the insight to making it. They will also be given the required materials from collection of the plantation and can sell excess to other people needing these materials. This product will create an upliftment of poorer and more backward section of society by employing them and training them with a skill so they can provide for their entire family.
