Vivid Light Projection “Nula” - Vivid Sydney 2015

Vivid Light Projection “Nula” (Vivid Sydney Light Festival 2015)
In a group with 2 other students I created a projection piece specifically for Sydney University’s Quadrangle. Nula (Nuh-lah) meaning “here, there, everywhere” combines the ideas of Aboriginal Astronomy, Biomedical Science and the International Year of Light.
The aboriginal dot painting of the quadrangle was done by the artists at EORA TAFE at our request. It depicts the elements of the land in warm reds and yellows and elements of the sea in cool blues and greens. In the projection artwork itself these two elements were brought in individually.

I designed a logo for the projection that utilised the painted dots to recreate the water serpent present on the building. The logo can also be animated to have the snake appear and flicker its tongue.
