The Magician – Paper Cut illustration
For this school project, I created a paper sculpture that was meant to promote an imaginary children's shampoo brand under the concept of "If you can dream it, you can use it".
To achieve the fairy-tale atmosphere that belongs to this concept, there's a girl on the center of the illustration performing magic on a shampoo bottle. She's surrounded by floating candles, old books, various potions and even a glowing cauldron!
Process
After a couple of initial sketches, I transferred the final illustration to tracing paper, which then served as a guide for each piece.
Each piece was hand cut and given specific treatment to create volume.
The hair was tricky, but so much fun as well!
Billboard
Since this project was meant to promote a fictional shampoo brand, I applied the final result on a mock-up. This is how it would look as an advertising billboard.
